In the following activities, you will be using the ChemCollective virtual laboratory.
This software allows you to design and carry out your own experiments, much as you would in a real chemistry lab.
This flexible simulation will run on most computers without any additional installation.
(The virtual lab requires the Java Plug-In. If you do not already have it installed, the page will prompt you
with download instructions). Before you begin, please watch the 3-minute
instructional video which shows how to use the virtual lab.
Precipitation Reactions Problem 1: Determine the amount of solid Co(OH)2 formed when cobalt (II) chloride and sodium hydroxide are mixed together.
Precipitation Reactions Problem 2: Determine the concentration of potassium nitrate remaining in a solution when lead (II) nitrate and potassium chromate are combined.
Precipitation Reactions Problem 3: Determine the number of moles of sodium nitrate remaining in solution when sodium carbonate and manganese (II) nitrate are combined.
